Erik Karlsson was drafted in the first round, 15th overall, by the Ottawa Senators at the 2008 NHL Entry Draft. Karlsson spent his first nine NHL seasons before he ended up in San Jose playing for the Sharks. Karlsson is a two-time winner of the James Norris Memorial Trophy as the NHL’s best defenceman winning the award in 2012 and 2015. He has played 788 games scoring 143 goals adding 482 assists for 625 points.
