We are currently in the FINAL planning stages to return to Australia and New Zealand for the 2023 Ice Hockey Classic, “3s”. We have missed you!   CLICK HERE to book your Front of the Line reservation for tickets.

Over 2.5 years ago the world came to an uncomfortable halt and everyone has felt the loss! Over the last 10 years, the Ice Hockey Classic has come to Australia and New Zealand to showcase the great game of ice hockey through its Rivalry between Canada and USA.

It’s been 3 years since we have been able to produce the show and this year we will be doing something a little different. We will be showcasing Ice Hockey 3 on 3 game format with players from Canada, USA and – wait for it – Australia and New Zealand. The venues will be smaller but more intimate with limited seating.

The NHL adopted 3 on 3 overtime in 2015 to increase the excitement of the game and show fans the speed, skill, and the score of the game and it delivered! This part of a traditional game has become the most exciting part of hockey outside of the playoffs.

Each team will comprise an ten-man roster (9 skaters and 1 goaltender) – consisting of alumni players from various leagues; including NHL, AHL, EIHL. The end-to-end action created by the speed and skill of the players will be second to none. Rugby developed the Rugby Sevens to speed up the game and add another element to it, which created more fan engagement and an exciting fast pace. Ice Hockey is already a high paced game, but the “3’s” will elevate it to the next level. Teams will play in a round robin format.

The Ice Hockey Classic will return to its pre-pandemic full glory in 2023 and we will keep you informed.  Now more than ever before our event needs to focus on the safety, comfortability, experience, and security of the communities attending our shows.

For fans who are eager to return to the Ice Hockey Classic, rest assured we will be working with local venues and government agencies to find the safest ways to do so.

This year’s event will highlight our Indigenous partners, the Kaurna Boomerangs, and the Calling Lake Cree hockey nations. We have commissioned one-of-a-kind Indigenous-designed jerseys to celebrate our return.

These games are not only a way for us to celebrate return to normalcy but to help grow our game around the world and raise awareness for our Global causes which include; StopConcussions Foundation, CSRO, and now more important than ever – CONNECTED a mental health initiative.

For those who missed it, the Ice Hockey Classic that was held at the IHC Showcase at Paramount Ice in Thornhill on Saturday, August 21, 2022, here’s a recap. It was a great night.

People from all corners of the globe tuned in as a group of pro, college, and junior level players faced off representing Canada and the USA. The Americans were able to hold off a seven-goal comeback against Canada winning 8-7 in Overtime. The USA got off to a strong start, dominating play for most of the first period. Just before the halfway point of the first, Drake Caggiula (Buffalo Sabres) would find Grayden Gottschalk (Laurier Univ.) on a backdoor pass to open the scoring for the game…
