Forty-five years ago, Paul D’Amato didn’t know what he was getting himself into as an actor in the movie “Slap Shot. D’Amato was asked to play the evil role of Tim “Dr. Hook” McCracken, the captain of the Syracuse Bulldogs and the rival of Paul Newman’s Charlestown Chiefs. As the 45th Anniversary of the movie is this year he is still amazed to this day by the success of the ultra-popular 1977 hockey film.
