Paul Rosen Bio

Paul Rosen broke his leg in 14 different places during a Hockey game, after 23 operations, his leg became infected and he required an above-knee amputation.

But that never stopped Rosen from achieving in life, as in 2000 he would begin his Para Hockey journey with the Markham Islanders. Although he was a forward when he played Ice Hockey, Rosen was a high-level baseball Catcher so he became a goalie due to many similarities in the positions. At 41, Rosen would become the oldest player in Paralympic Winter Games Para Hockey to make his debut at the 2002 Games in Salt Lake City. At the Torino Paralympic Games, Rosen would backstop Team Canada to a Gold Medal in 2006. Rosen retired from Para Hockey in 2010 after the Vancouver Winter Olympics, he now donates his time to multiple causes such as Shoot For a Cure and StopConcussions.
