Malcolm Sutherland

Recognized as a top minor Hockey player in the Thunder Bay region, Malcolm Sutherland played on many championship teams and received multiple minor Hockey awards.

Including a trip to the Ontario Winter Games with the Thunder Bay Hornets, taking home the Gold Medal. He would earn a spot as the youngest player to suit up for the storied Thunder Bay Twins, AAA Senior team in 1988, winning the Allan Cup in his first year. Sutherland signed his first pro contract with the Trafford Metros in the British Elite Division. During his pro career, Sutherland would also get an Undergraduate Degree in Physical Education, a Master’s Degree in Kinesiology specializing in sport, coaching and human performance.

Malcolm is also the Head Coach for our Ice Hockey Classic tour. He has overseen our program for the past six seasons and has coached Canada in four of our main tours. He has worked very efficiently with his support staff and has made the overall experience exceptional. His ability to lead and create a team atmosphere has been second to none. He has been responsible for the coaching strategies used by all our Ice Hockey Coaching staff and support staff.

As the creator of the Safe4Sports Prevention Platform, Malcolm has helped build a coaching team to help move forward the platform. He is articulate, structured and very well organized. We look forward to working with Malcolm for many years to come.
