Dave Hanson is best known for his portrayal of himself in the Hockey classic ‘Slapshot,’ he has had a Hockey career of his own.

He played for the Birmingham Bulls for most of his WHA career where he had six goals, 22 assists and 212 penalty minutes his last year there. Hanson has also appeared in 33 NHL games with the Detroit Red Wings and the Minnesota North Stars where he had two points and 65 penalty minutes.
